Ways to pay less than the ticket fare

The amounts above are the standard QR/paper ticket fares. These payment methods bring the cost down further on the same journey.

Smart Card
A flat 10% discount on every ride, stretching to 20% off when you tap in outside peak hours. Rechargeable, valid for ten years, and also usable on DTC, cluster and metro feeder buses.
NCMC (National Common Mobility Card)
Any bank-issued NCMC works across the network and Airport line, giving 10% off during peak hours and 20% off during non-peak hours, on top of the base fare.
App-based QR ticket
Booked through apps such as Delhi Metro Sarthi, WhatsApp, PayTM, One Delhi, Amazon Pay or PhonePe, charged at the exact fares shown above with no discount.
Tourist Card
A one-day pass at ₹200 (₹50 refundable deposit) or a three-day pass at ₹500 (₹50 refundable deposit), useful for unlimited travel rather than paying per journey.

Why does the calculator show two fares?

DMRC runs two fare tables. The normal fare applies Monday to Saturday, while a lower special fare applies on Sundays and the three national holidays — Republic Day, Independence Day and Gandhi Jayanti. The gap between the two is usually around ten to eleven rupees.

Which ticket type gets the cheapest fare?

A paper QR ticket or app-based QR ticket is charged at the fares shown by this calculator. A Smart Card or NCMC card brings the cost down further through automatic discounts layered on top of these base fares.

How much do Smart Card and NCMC discounts save?

A Smart Card gives a flat 10% discount on every trip, rising to 20% if you enter the paid area during off-peak hours. An NCMC card gives 10% off in peak hours and 20% off in non-peak hours, on any bank-issued NCMC accepted across the network.

What counts as off-peak on the Delhi Metro?

Off-peak windows run before 8:00 AM, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 PM, and from 9:00 PM until the last train, Monday to Saturday. National holidays are excluded from the off-peak discount even if they fall on a weekday.

Does the fare change if I take a longer route by mistake?

Fare is fixed for a station pair rather than the exact path a train happens to take, so it stays the same regardless of which interchange you use to get there.

How long can I stay inside the paid area on one ticket?

The permitted time inside the paid area is tied to the fare band you paid, running from 65 minutes on the cheapest fares up to 180 minutes on the highest one, with only 20 minutes allowed if you enter and exit the same station.
